Jaunnes Bergh is a proud South African and a serving soldier in the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) for 17 years. His journey has been shaped by discipline, integrity, resilience, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to serving others.

He wants to use his platform to promote awareness, encourage people to understand and respect the rights afforded to LGBTQIA+ people, and support efforts that ensure those rights are protected and upheld.

His personal motivation is deeply rooted in helping people overcome the fear of rejection and the fear of acceptance. He believes every person deserves the opportunity to feel valued, accepted, respected, and confident enough to live authentically.

Beyond his military and pageant journeys, Jaunnes has a deep passion for animal welfare, nature, and community service. He enjoys outdoor activities, hiking, gardening, and boxing, while remaining committed to making a positive difference wherever he can.

As Mr Gay Nation Champion 2026, Jaunnes intends to lead through action and service. He wants his reign to be remembered not only for the crown he wore, but for the people he helped, the lives he touched, the rights he helped champion, and the positive change he contributed to.
